Thank you for your letter concerning the proposed memorial for the victims at Guise. I have contacted the members of our committee and informed them of your proposals. At our A.G.M. on May 9,2023 we had a similar request for contributions. This was for a sign to be erected, which would indicate the area of the action at Aubers Ridge at which the 2nd Munsters took part (made famous by Mattania’s painting of the General Absolution). We are awaiting an estimate of that cost.

But I agree that a memorial at Guise is important and our committee is in favour of our participation in the project.

As soon as you have details of the design and cost of the memorial please contact me; but please feel free to contact me at any stage of the project.
